The work was created in 2006. Initially, this painting was merely an experiment in the exploration of my own language. It is abstract, but not for the sake of being abstract. Instead, I think I was more concerned with abstracting internally an experience of living and life. This was done in order to destroy and construct an artistic language that is unique to myself. This work also covers the stress and confusion I had when I first arrived in Beijing. From the heavy texture to the multiple layerings, from the misery of solitude to the power of struggle, it was a diary of my life experiences.
