Running alongside the 12th Shanghai Biennale, in addition to Art021, other significant exhibitions presented by local institutions and galleries will be on view during the week, showcasing Shanghai’s influential and evolving art community.

ART021 co-founder David Chau stated, “We are proud to grow our international focus while continuing in our commitment to supporting the local ecosystem by presenting contemporary art by China-based artists and cultivating a new generation of domestic collectors.”

This year, 103 galleries from 18 countries are featured in the showcase. Participants include Galerie Thaddeus Ropac, Gagosian, and David Zwirner. ART021  will also debut two program sections that bring diversity to the fair. “Beyond-Extends focuses on showing public art in and around Shanghai, while “Detour” showcases a curated body of work from the West.
