Check out Nature Discovery Park—Hong Kong’s first urban biodiversity museum and sustainability-themed education space at K11 MUSEA.

Showcasing Hong Kong’s ecological importance and global value, K11 MUSEA’s Nature Discovery Park—a biodiversity museum on Level 8—makes the perfect escape into nature. This soothing green space, which plays host to a variety of rare plants endemic to the city’s shores, features more than 180 tropical and native plants along with naturally attracted butterflies.

This oasis on the eighth floor forms the main attraction in K11 MUSEA’s weekly Nature Discovery Tour, a journey to learn about biodiversity and sustainability at the cultural-retail destination. As well as discussing how to enrich biodiversity, visitors are introduced to the concept of rooftop farming and its role in the future direction of food production. The tour takes one and a half hours and costs HK$200.

Among the greenery, there are select fabulous artworks on view too. Carsten Höller’s Giant Triple Mushroom is a wonderful discovery, as is Korakrit Arunanondchai’s United Nations of Happiness after Homosapiens leave the Earth. On which note, indulge your kids’ love for art with their love for nature in K11 MUSEA’s Kids’ Nature Art Jam. The guided tour at the Nature Discovery Park lets kids experience native and exotic plant species as well as components from the earth, sky and sea (yes, there’s also a small aquarium up on the eighth floor teeming with native tropical marine species). Treating the park as an enchanting, living studio, children can take inspiration from the verdant surrounds to create their own nature art; at HK$150 for one child and one guardian.

The park also jointly organises guided tours and environmental courses suitable for children and families with The Jane Goodall Institute (Hong Kong), founded by internationally renowned primate scholars and United Nations Peace Ambassador Dr. Jane Goodall, to promote action towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. (UN SDGs). Goodall has been fighting for animal rights and environmental protection for the last six decades.

Given its natural vantage point, K11 MUSEA offers bespoke packages for venue rental for Nature Discovery Park (@naturediscoverypark), welcoming individuals or groups who could organise events—think skincare and beauty awards, art and eco-design talks, meetings, lunch, dinner, cocktail gatherings, weddings and birthday parties.

Make nature second nature at the glorious oasis on the eighth floor at K11 MUSEA.
